The Ultimate Aero posted 257.41 mph on the first pass and 254.88 mph on the second for an average of 256.18 mph. Official data were collected via a GPS tracking system from Austrian data acquisition company Dewetron. At that speed the Ultimate Aero broke the official record held by the Koenigsegg CCR (242 mph) and the unofficial record (253 mph) held by Volkswagen’s $1.6 million Bugatti Veyron. The Ultimate Aero is aerodynamically stable at speeds up to 273 mph. “If there was additional straight pavement on which to accelerate, the top speed would have been considerably higher, so if anyone challenges our record there is tons left on the table,” says Chuck Bigelow, the pilot of the Ultimate Aero on its record-breaking run.

The Ultimate Aero’s weight is more contained than the Bugatti due to the smaller engine and lack of all-wheel-drive system, the biggest difference is of course the price; the $1.6 million Veyron costs more than 2.5 times as much as the SSC ($600,000). SSC is about to reach the 50-car production run planned for the Ultimate Aero. Apparently five cars have been sold and delivered internationally. 2008 has already seen eight orders with six-figure down payments to match. Next on the company agenda is a four-door, four-seat, luxury sports sedan aiming at near or above 220 mph.

The world famous Egg chair designed by Danish Architect Arne Jacobsen in 1958 and manufactured by Fritz Hansen will launch its 50th Anniversary in 2008 with 999 limited edition designs.

The limited edition collection will for the first time include chocolate brown suede on the back and dark chocolate brown leather on the front.The sophisticated combination of leather and suede is perfectly complimentedwith a base in solid bronze; hand polished to create a unique finish. The bronze base will darken in appearance, becoming more beautiful over time.

Sony unveiled its 8M high-zoom digital camera ‘Cyber-shot DSC-H10’ that supports up to ISO 3200 and 10x optical zoom lens.

Designed to replace the current DSC-H3 model, the DSC-H10 camera features a wider 3-inch LCD PlusTM screen for easy playback viewing and menu navigation. Its face detection technology can identify and focus on up to eight faces in a frame, and automatically adjusts the focus for correctly exposed photos.

GM Korea today launched its luxury sports sedan ‘All-New CTS’ which is powered by a new 3.6L direct-injection V-6 VVT engine delivering an estimated 304 horsepower and 37.8 kgㆍm torque at 5200rpm.

The 3.6L direct-injection engine will be the top-level engine option for the 2008 CTS, joining the existing 2.8L V-6 and 3.6L V-6. Designed to operate with regular unleaded gasoline, the new 3.6-liter direct-injection V-6 produces power similar to many V-8 engines, but with much better fuel economy.

With direct injection, fuel is delivered directly to the combustion chamber to create a more complete burn of the air/fuel mixture. The application of gasoline direct-injection technology on the 3.6L VVT engine contributes greatly to a 15-percent increase in horsepower; 8-percent increase in torque, and 3-percent improvement in brake-specific fuel consumption.
