Adiva just released a 250cc convertible scooter, a roofed scooter. The foldaway roof stows in the top box compartment, probably taking a fair bit of luggage space with it, but then you can remove it entirely on nice days. The original patent design also shows some sort of bodywork extending a rail across the side of the bike to help deal with falls and side impacts, but it seems these haven’t made it to the roadgoing version.
The price… Well, comparable to a Piaggio MP3 at UKP4,999, which is a lot. And who knows if it will sell - but I for one am glad to see this sort of wacky concept get a run, if only to shake up the ridiculously conservative motorcycle market a bit!

The Dutch Bicycle Company has created a Conference Bike, which promises to be the sure-fire ice-breaker in corporate or social environment. Aptly dubbed CoBi by American artist/inventor Eric Staller, the bike is powered by six peddlers while one steers it around. In case you’re guessing how this bike would be useful in scenarios other than a corporate set up, lemme tell ya the two models of the bike, CoBi-5 and CoBi-7 are already being used to ferry employees on the Amazon.com campus in California, as a tour bike in Berlin, and as a corporate team-building tool in London. The 400lb bike measures 2.5m L x 1.8m W x 1.4m H and can run a top speed of 15 kmph which is more than enough to get all the team members to gel together if you let them loose on a freeway! And while you may think that the Conference Bike isn’t safe with six peddlers having their fate in the hands of one loony steerer, it actually comes with dynamo-powered lights/reflectors that meet the strict German ‘StVO’ regulation so you have nothing to worry about when you have to CoBi-pool your way back from office at night. The incredible CoBi-7 retails for $12,750 in the States while the 5-seater model sells for $8,750. Check out the video after the jump to watch magnificent CoBi in action.

Concerned to create a feeling of security in an ever-changing world, De Sede presents the new DS 166 contemporary armchair, a leather armchair designed by Hugo de Ruiter. With the strong impact of a piece of sculpture, this is an armchair designed according to ergonomic and artistic principles. The DS 166, along with its coordinating optional puff, provides a unique solution to balance art and functionality. The upward tapering lines are visually appealing; the leather soft and luxurious; the form bold and unforgettable.

Nature undoubtedly has come up with some of the most unique solutions with regard to evolution. The dragonfly is unique with regard to its ability to hover, rapidly accelerate and halt and hover again, all while producing the least amount of sound and by doing it with utmost ease. This handcrafted marvel, which was made to represent the emperor dragonfly, has its moving parts made of gold, crafted skillfully and precisely. The wings of this genius creation flutter as and when the tip of the tail is twisted. The outer body and wings are made of Argentium Silver. Presumably, this delicate masterpiece has taken days and months of hard work and thus the product comes with a very heavy price tag. The machine would cost you $15,000.

The Alton F-650 XUV carries a GVWR of 25,999 lbs, making the 660 ft-lbs of torque generated by its 7.2L Caterpillar engine seem trivial. The vehicle incorporates hardwood floors, custom captains chairs, a 42-speaker sound system, two drop-down 16-inch TVs plus a 42-inch plasma, four computer workstations and a train horn. Pushing F-650-based vehicles like DeBerti or Ford’s Work Solutions trucks to the sidelines, this Alton baby just commands your attention!

Alton F-650 XUV was seen at the Chicago Auto Show and will set you back by $200,000, when it hits the road.
