Samsung Electronics released three new TV displays at the SID 2008.Samsung will unveil the industry’s first 82-inch LCD TV panel with ultra-definition (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate. It displays ultra-definition (UD) resolution at 120 frames per second, minimizing the blurring that is experienced at 60Hz. A red/green/blue LED backlight has been added to raise true color saturation to 150 percent, based on the NISC standard of 100 percent.
“This 82-inch LCD is large enough to cover all viewing angles with ultra-definition resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate that will allow viewers to watch motion pictures as if they are really in them,” said Sang Soo Kim, executive vice president of the LCD Technology Center at Samsung Electronics. “It is the optimal display for future TVs.”

Hannspree has dropped some 19-inch LCD monitors called the XM-Ball Series in Korea. They feature a soccer ball, basketball and baseball-shaped frames made from real leather. All three have support for 1280 x 1024 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 3ms response speed and HDMI port. No word on pricing or availability just yet
