 dell-inspirion-goes-blu-ray_5965.jpg

After bumping the HD DVD off the shelves, Blu-Ray is all set to bite off a sizable chuck of the media player market with leading notebook manufacturers announcing support for the emerging media format. Dell took a noticeable lead in the game announcing that its 1525 now features a Blu-ray player and HDMI out starting at $879 making it a very reasonable notebook choice if you already own a HDTV. Developed on Broadcom Media PC technology, the 1525 allows the system to play Blu-Ray titles while using integrated graphics and built-in accelerator located in a mini-card slot enables playback. Available in three exciting colors including yellow, red and blue, we expect to see the 1525 giving its non-Blu-ray competitors a good run for their monies for a while to come.

Here’s the FRNL from Fontier, a sub notebook which seems to resist to almost ANYTHING !

1.249kg (MacBook Air 1.36kg), with a size of 296×30.8×209mm with only 12.5mm for the thinnest side (MacBook Air 227×19.4×325mm)… Yep not that big neither… but hold ON, does the MacBook Air feature a waterproof keyboard? A body which can resist up to 120kg of pressure? Or stand a 76cm fall? Hmm I do not think so!

frontier_frnl_002.jpg

The FRNL is powered by an Intel A110 CPU (800Mhz), 1GB of RAM, a 12.1” LED backlight LCD with SXGA resolution, 80GB of HDD, Wifi A/B/G… Yeah on this one the MacBook Air is a killer, in design too… but if you’re looking for a strong computer, the FRNL may be the right choice since it costs almost half the price of the MacBook Air.

Swarovski MacBook Air adorned with over 11,000 24k-gold crystals

Unveiled at CeBIT 2008, “Golden Age” is a Macbook Air decked in 12,000 Swarovski crystals. The crystals are even more shiny than usual thanks to a coating of 24k gold applied under each crystal. The translucence of the crystals allows for true layered luxury. Each “Golden Age” takes a week to construct since each and every crystal is hand-applied, so only 20 of these beauties exist, one of which will be for sale at Selfridges, Oxford Street, on March 18th. That is if you can muster up the £20,000 ($39,750) price tag for the mega-bling.
