siafu-pc-design1.jpg

Here is the next generation of PC created by Siafu. The idea behind Siafu was to give people with vision loss an intuitive computer experience. It provides a digitally tactile interface that completely revolutionizes the way that blind people interact with a computer. Siafu lays flat like a tablet and allows the user to fully interact with it by way of touch. The surface of Siafu utilizes a conceptual material called magneclay. This material has the ability to morph upward into any shape. This means that Siafu can generate infinitely refreshable braille and then display it in a book format instead of just one line at a time like current braille displays. Siafu also has the ability to display images as a 3-dimensional relief, allowing blind computer users to experience digital images, and graphic layouts for the first time.

It runs on Windows Vista and is powered by a massive Freescale 532 MHz CPU (iMX31). It enables you to get traffic related info using its GPS equipped with Transport Protocol Export Group (TPEG). It’s also got DMB and PiP so that you can watch your favourite channel and traffic related info at the same time (eh?). Well, other than that it boasts of a sweet 7-inch WVGA Screen, 4GB of internal memory and SD expansion slot

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution features Bluetooth 2.0 Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) wireless technology, which provides an easier setup experience, as well as a more robust and reliable connection than with previous generations of Bluetooth technology. Because the keyboard, mouse and receiver are pre-paired during manufacturing, people need only plug in the mini-receiver to a computer’s USB port to connect the keyboard and mouse to the PC. The MX 5500 desktop’s receiver can also be used as a Bluetooth hub, enabling other Bluetooth devices, such as a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone or a PDA, to connect to a computer through the hub. A computer must have a compatible Bluetooth stack installed for this mode to be functional.
