Samsung Unveils Three New Displays at the SID 2008

Samsung Electronics released three new TV displays at the SID 2008.Samsung will unveil the industry’s first 82-inch LCD TV panel with ultra-definition (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate. It displays ultra-definition (UD) resolution at 120 frames per second, minimizing the blurring that is experienced at 60Hz. A red/green/blue LED backlight has been added to raise true color saturation to 150 percent, based on the NISC standard of 100 percent.

“This 82-inch LCD is large enough to cover all viewing angles with ultra-definition resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate that will allow viewers to watch motion pictures as if they are really in them,” said Sang Soo Kim, executive vice president of the LCD Technology Center at Samsung Electronics. “It is the optimal display for future TVs.”

 LG Display Develops New Circular and Elliptical Displays

LG Display has recently developed both small circular and elliptical LCD screens. The 1.4″, circular-shaped LCD measures 35.5 mm in diameter, while the 6″ elliptical measures 78.8mm in height and is 131.4 wide. Both display up to 262,000 colors and have a near 160-degree viewing angle, and the elliptical-shaped LCD accepts power digital photo frames.

 Samsung Launches a New Dual Slide Phone for Music Lovers

Samsung announced the launch of F400, a dual slider music phone designed to bring top quality music and sound anytime, anywhere. With F400, users will experience a sonic bliss within the palms of their own hands.
F400 also boasts other great features. A 3-megapixel camera with AF, FM Radio and Bluetooth v 2.0 supports provide convenience and entertainment. Storage space is never an issue for F400, with an in-box 1GB SD memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 8GB to store all music files. USB 2.0 HS is also available for an extra mass storage space. A 3.5 mm earphone jack is definitely a plus, letting users plug in their favorite headsets directly to the phone.
