The performance of this Thinkpad Edge 14 is great with solid performance, bright screen and excellent keyboard. The rubberized track point at center is annoying and it is quite thick and heavy than other models. But is a good laptop for professionals and small-business owners which has been designed for average budget and has DVD drive in-built in it.

The Edge series of Thinkpad is an affordable, midrange alternative for the standard Thinkpad line and has small screen size of usually 13.3 inches without optical drive and runs on Core 2 Duo processor of low voltage.

The new 15-inch and 14-inch models from Lenovo have faster processors and in-built DVD drives but has similar appearance to other versions. You can buy them with Intel or AMD CPUs but there will be price variation among the two. When you consider Intel, the price will be high and it will be usually i3 or i5 processors with starting price of $649 but with 4GB RAM, the price can go as high as $784.After a conference call with a retailer i understand that the price its really good.

LG Electronics will unveil new 2011 Nano Full LED HDTVs at the CES 2011. The LG LW9500 and LW7700 Nano Full LED TV series feature the Nano Lighting technology, which produces LG’s brightest, clearest and smoothest picture so far. An extremely thin film printed with a proprietary light dispersion pattern combined with a full array of LEDs disperses light more evenly across the screen, creating pictures that are brighter than conventional edge-lit LED sets. What’s more, an Anti-Reflection panel on the screen minimizes reflection from external light sources to provide a crystal clear picture. LG will also introduce the LSB316 Bluetooth soundbar at CES 2011. This soundbar features a wireless subwoofer and can stream audio from devices such as iPhone. Stay tuned for more updates.

Samsung Omnia 7

Samsung, along with many other companies, has also announced and demonstrated their own smartphone at Microsoft’s Windows 7 Phone release event. The Omnia 7 is a pretty decent handset, although it doesn’t really stand out from the crowd (especially with competitors like the HTC 7 Pro and Mozart, which have some pretty unique features).

The device’s only defining feature is the stylish design and its big 4 inch Super AMOLED display (which you may have seen in the Google Nexus One) that makes the image on the screen very crisp and vibrant. Other than that, the Omnia 7 is pretty standard, and it comes equipped with a 1GHz Qualcomm QSD 8250 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 or 16 GB of internal memory and a micro SD card slot and a 5 megapixels camera that is capable of filming 720p video (with the right software, you should also be able to edit it right on the phone or stream the footage live).

The Samsung Omnia 7 also comes with a wide array of communication capabilities, including quad band GSM, HSUPA and HSDPA 3G, which allows you to upload and download data at 5.76/7.2 Mbps, respectively (Windows 7 Phone is also limited to 7.2 Mbps max, so you won’t be able to use T-Mobile’s 14.4 Mbps network even if such a phone comes out).

The stylish body definitely has a sort of elegance about it, and it’s pretty slim at 11mm, weighing only 138 grams – average in the class. Strangely, the phone does not have an integrated GPS transceiver, which would’ve been pretty useful for many people, and that could negatively affect its sales to a certain degree.

The Samsung Omnia 7 will be released on November 8th on AT&T’s network in the US, and will cost $199.99 with a 2 year contract, which is a pretty standard price to pay. If you like the new Windows 7 Phone, this phone should definitely be on your choice list.
