Designed by grad students, “Splinter” is “a 600-hp, 2,500-pound goer with wood used for the chassis, body, and parts of the suspension and wheels.”
The car is powered by a twin-supercharged Northstar V8. To keep all that heat from doing bad things to the wood, the exhaust exits from the top of the block and out through mufflers in the wing — which, as you might guess, makes the non-wooden wing quite hot

Fujitsu has just announced that “TEO”, it’s seried media center desktop PC, will now be equipped with Blu-Ray reader drive as well. Other configuration for this high-end TEO90Y/D PC are HDMI support, a 500GB of hard drive, an ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics engine, a 2GB of main memory, and a 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo T5500 processor. It should be available immediately, but no words on pricing unfortunately.
Pixel Lab Korea(www.myripple.co.kr) launched its 12.1-inch notebook pc ‘Ripple Note T2450’ in Korea market, which features luxury handbag style.
Running on Intel Core Duo T2450 processor(2.0GHz), it adopted 1280 x 800 WXGA LCD display, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, and 120GB SATA hard drive. Other features included 1.3M webcam, 7 in 1 multi-reader, and a built-in microphone.

Texas introduced the industry’s smallest (SC70 package) low-power, resistor-programmable temperature switch ‘TMP300’ that operates over the largest supply voltage range.
The TMP300 allows for simple temperature monitoring and control. The tiny size of the device makes it an attractive option for power supply systems, DC/DC modules, thermal monitoring and electronic protection systems.
The TMP300 features a trip point that is set by adding a single, inexpensive resistor, and the open-drain output can control a power switch or provide a processor interrupt. A separate pin on the device provides an analog output (10mV/C) that can serve as a testing point or can be used in temperature-compensation loops. With a wide supply voltage range of 1.8V to 18V, the TMP300 allows for simple thermal monitoring without requiring an MCU/DSP. This lets the device take advantage of existing power buses in numerous applications, from battery-powered handhelds to industrial control systems. Further, the device’s low power of 110uA (max) extends battery life.

The analog output measures temperature with +/-3C accuracy (max) and the temperature switch has +/-4C switch accuracy over a temperature range of -40C to 125C. Hysteresis of the TMP300 is pin programmable to two states of either 5C or 10C.
The TMP300 is available now from TI and its authorized distributors in a SC70 package and is priced at 1.00(USD) each in 100-piece quantities. It will be introduced in a SOT23 package during 1Q 2008.
